Homework can be found in your child's speech folder. All children who are attending speech therapy to remediate speech sound production are given a folder and daily homework. Please remind your child to keep their folder in their book bag/backpack so your child can practice their speech sounds daily. Your child will be given a due date which homework must be signed, however daily practice is encourage to promote optimum success.
Please take 5 to 10 minutes each day to review the sounds your child is working on in speech therapy. Home practice will increase a successful speech pattern. Keep in mind that conversational level sound practice while traveling in the car, during daily routines, or meals is perfectly fine. Practice in natural situations is the best way to learn and work towards carryover. If a sound error is made, model the correct production, and move on.
Because of the high work demand at the intermediate level, language therapy homework is generally not given.
